What is tchoukball?
Tchoukball is a dynamic team sport, most often played indoors, in which two teams of seven players attempt to score points by throwing a ball the size of a handball at one of two rebound frames (trampolines) positioned at opposite ends of the court. The objective is to make the ball rebound and land on the ground outside the restricted area before the opposing team can catch it. If the opposing team catches the ball, play continues with them now on the attack.
Can Be Played at All Levels
Because tchoukball is a sport specifically designed to minimize injuries as much as possible, there are no tackles or other forms of physical contact between players. Greater emphasis is placed on technique and teamwork than on physical strength. The rules are also easy to learn, and the movements are familiar and natural, as tchoukball draws inspiration from other sports such as handball, volleyball, and squash. This makes tchoukball a game that everyone can take part in.
At the highest competitive level, however, tchoukball is played as a fast, technical, and intense sport, where players must constantly be ready to switch quickly between attack and defense, and vice versa.
Fair Play
Fair play is always at the heart of tchoukball, along with respect for both teammates and opponents. Winning in tchoukball is about playing better than your opponents, not about interrupting or disrupting their game. It is about lifting each other up and allowing ourselves to be inspired by both teammates and opponents to play as well as we can. Beautiful play inspires beautiful play.
